The Blade Junior Code of Conduct

The Board of Directors of the Blade Junior Golf Classic and the SCJGA have adopted a code of conduct that each participant shall abide by while a guest of the Thornblade Club. The intent of this code is to ensure that all competitors are held accountable for their actions on and off the golf course. As a board of directors and the managing body of junior golf in South Carolina, we want to ensure that all participants are treated fairly and know what our expectations are of this fine group of young men and women.
Proper etiquette and sportsmanship is an integral part of the game and is spelled out in the rules of golf; “all players should conduct themselves in a disciplined manner, demonstrating courtesy and sportsmanship at all times, irrespective of how competitive they may be”. The rules also address care of the course; “players should avoid causing damage to the course by removing divots on practice swings or by hitting the head of a club into the ground, whether in anger or for any other reason”.
The Board of Directors and the Thornblade staff work extremely hard for many months to provide a first class junior event played at one of the finest facilities in the southeast. Therefore, we expect all competitors to conduct themselves in a first class manner.
